New Controller to Upgrade Fiscal Operations

August 9, 2007 (King City, CA) - Mee Memorial Hospital in King City has announced a key addition to their Finance Department with the recent hiring of Sandie Bowen as Controller.  Sandy comes to the hospital from Ridgecrest Regional Hospital in Ridgecrest, CA.  With her appreciation of small town life, she finds the environment at Mee and King City an ideal fit.        

Bowen’s extensive background in accounting began when she took an immediate liking to business finance working for a C.P.A. at the age of 16.  Among her first duties at Mee is an analysis of the current state of the department, and a revision of policies and procedures to create a more efficient and effective operation. The overall effort will reduce costs and upgrade the quality and presentation of Mee’s financial information.

“My end of the year goal is to make sure that we have a clean audit, and that the financials we’re reporting are an accurate reflection of the financial state of the hospital,” Bowen says.  “In my 19 years in finance, I’ve only had two audits that weren’t clean, and one of those was in my first year.”

With her meticulous nature, Bowen loves the challenges presented in accounting, and intends to grow her department over time in terms of responsibility.  Through Bowen’s leadership and reorganization, Mee Memorial Hospital and Mee Health Systems will operate on an improved basis of fiscal reporting for all current and future activities.

Sandie Bowen lives in Greenfield with her husband and 10-year old son.  The Bowens also have two grown children.
