Babies Born at Mee Get a Special Gift this Holiday Season
King City, CA (December 21, 2007) – For the first year, Mee Memorial Hospital’s Service League of Volunteers has donated almost 70 special stockings to the Obstetrics (OB) Unit so that newborns and their families can go home for the holidays in style.
“Everyday you will see our volunteers knitting and sewing, and donating caps and booties, as well as pillows and totes, to our OB Unit and other departments in the hospital,” says Raye Burkhardt, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer of Mee Memorial Hospital and Mee Health Systems. “Our volunteers decided to undertake a new project with these warm holiday stockings so that our community’s babies have their first experience with Christmas and the holidays. It kind of gives another meaning to the best stocking stuffer gift ever!”
