Be A Volunteer! The Service League at Mee Memorial Hospital offers aid with community healthcare and supports all Mee Memorial medical facilities. There are many volunteer opportunities at Mee, including:
Making Phone Calls
”Care-Call” volunteers make follow up phone calls to patients after discharge. Volunteers are able to brighten someone’s day with a friendly “hello”, a kind ear and the commitment to care. Caring is just a phone call away!
“The Service League people are wonderful! Everyone is so nice; they help each other! I love to give facials for the skilled nursing patients. The patients feel 10 years younger, and I get more out of it than I give.” Making Friends
”Caring-Callers” visit patients in our skilled nursing facility once a week. They may sit and talk, read, go on outings or even offer a pedicure! Our volunteers put their best foot forward to let patients know others care.
Making a Contribution
The volunteers directly help support the hospital’s equipment needs and the community’s scholarship needs.
Getting Some Exercise
Our volunteers stay in shape by running around to drop off magazines and make deliveries to patients. They also assist with errands in other departments throughout the hospital.
Helping with Events
Some of which include:
Bake sales
Scrub sales
Event representation
Flu shot clinics
Health fairs
Open Houses
Blood drives
Showing Your Creativity
Help sew caps and booties, as well as pillows and totes, for our Obstetrics and Social Services departments.
Gift Shop & Information
The Service League volunteers operate the hospital’s Gift Shop. Our funds directly benefit the hospital. The Gift Shop is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday/Sunday from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
The Information Booth is the first impression a hospital patron receives, and the volunteers brighten the day of every hospital patron with a cheerful greeting!
Social Gatherings
We have a Calendar of Events for you to meet new friends. Our volunteers laugh, cry and work hard to serve our community together. You will become part of a compassionate group of people!
