Mee Memorial Mobile Health UnitBecause lack of transportation (or the ability to travel) is a barrier for many in receiving medical services, Mee brings prevention programs and medical care directly into neighborhoods across South Monterey and North San Luis Obispo Counties. Our Mobile Health Unit (MHU) offers free and inexpensive healthcare to uninsured and low-income people. All MHU staff is bilingual (English/Spanish), treating adults and children at different locations on designated days.
We believe that any increased access to the underserved is imperative because it prevents overcrowding in local emergency rooms and provides care to people who need it at a much lower cost, such as women requiring prenatal care, children with hearing imparities or the elderly who cannot drive long distances for their medical care needs.
Mee’s Mobile Health Unit routinely travels to small communities such as San Lucas, Lockwood, San Ardo and San Miguel. Services include urgent care, physical exams, pediatric care, vaccinations, immunizations, as well as most routine healthcare services.
The Mobile Health Unit is also available to make onsite visits to large farms, ranches and other businesses in south Monterey County and north San Luis Obispo County.
