Helpful Information for Patients and Visitors
Visiting Hours

Hospital visiting hours vary with each patient care area.  For your convenience, the following listing is a guideline of Mee’s general visiting hours, but keep in mind that these hours may change depending on a number of variables.  Your nurse can assist you with questions to confirm.

Medical-Surgical Unit
Visitors are welcome from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.  Hours vary based on the level of care, and physician/nurse instruction or discretion.  Ask your nurse for information about your unit – please be courteous and considerate of other patients.

Intensive Care Unit
Other than during situations involving patient emergencies, visiting hours for the intensive care unit are at the physician/nurse discretion (with the exception of no visiting hours between 7:00 am to 9:00 am or 7:00 pm to 9:00 p.m. when nurses change shift and make rounds on each patient). 

Visitors are generally limited to members of the immediate family and are allowed at the discretion of the nursing staff.  Flowers and plants are not permitted in the intensive care unit.  Children under 12 years of age are not permitted in adult patient care areas. 

Obstetrics/Maternity Unit
In general, OB visiting hours are from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, with exceptions based on nurse approval.  There are no restrictions on hours in Labor and Delivery.  The number of significant others and/or coaches is limited per physician or nurse discretion (but are allowed an overnight stay with the patient).

VIP Rooms
Per patient request, including overnight guests.

During Surgery
Family members and visitors may wait in any of the hospital’s waiting areas, including the Olivia Café (cafeteria), whether or not the patient is going to be admitted to the hospital following surgery or going home after the surgical procedure.  Visitors are not permitted in the operating rooms at any time.  During regular business hours, your family members may receive information from the operating rooms via the nurses.

Skilled Nursing Areas
Visitors are welcome from 9:30 am to 8:30 pm.  Hours vary based on the level of care, and physician/nurse instruction or discretion.
