"Since I was young I knew I wanted to do something to help people. In college, I was treated by an orthopedic surgeon who had a terrible personality. It prompted me to think that I could do better. Attending a gathering for minorities at the University of Washington, I linked up with a woman orthopedist who I thought had the coolest job and was 5’2” and weighed 100 pounds. I thought if she can do it, so can I. I also grew up from very humble means. I like being part of a community where I get to see some patients who often don’t have means. They really need to see a specialist, but would not be able to otherwise. Here’s where I can help."
