Mee Memorial Board Offers Community Experience
The Mee Memorial Hospital trustees offer a wide variety of expertise and experience to make the current board well rounded and diverse at the same time.
"I really am appreciative of what our board members contribute to Mee Memorial," said Lex Smith, CEO and trustee. "They are hard working and give a lot of their time and talents to help us grow, expand and improve. While they are a policy making board, they are great ambassadors of the hospital to the entire community."
Janet has served on the board since mid-2009, and began her tenure as chair in 2012. Her board experience on the elementary and high school district board has served her well at Mee Memorial. She also has decades-long community experience.
Roy Schindelheim, M.D.
Chief of Staff
Dr. Roy Schindelheim became a member of the Board in 2011 after serving as Chief of Staff. Dr. Schindelheim has practiced in family practice medicine at Mee Memorial for nearly 30 years and is very knowledgeable about clinical care, health care issues, and, in addition, is very familiar with the entire South County area.
Roger has served on the Board since 2008. A CPA, he owns his own accounting firm, Borzini Accounting. In addition to his financial expertise, he brings along a concern for the community and an ability to get things done.
Lex T. Smith, FACHE
Lex T. Smith, FACHE is the Chief Executive Officer at George L. Mee Memorial Hopsital in King City, CA. Lex joined the organization in June, 2009. Lex holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from the University of Arkansas and a Master’s of Science in Administration of Health Services from the University of Houston, Clear Lake City and is an American College of Healthcare – Fellow. Prior ot joining Mee Memorial Hospital, Lex served in Senior Leadership positions as hospitals in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas. For the past four years Lex has been actively involved and served on many committees of the CHA and Rural Health Center.
Retired Dean of the Hartnell College facility in King City, Paulette is an energetic and knowledgeable addition to the board, serving on several other community boards and committees, including South Monterey County High School board and as Past President of King City Rotary Club. She joined the board in 2009.
In addition to being a long-standing and active member of the community, Sarah has extensive experience in the health care profession. She joined the Board in 2009.
