Service League

The Mee Memorial Hospital Service League’s mission is to aid with community healthcare and support all Mee Memorial medical facilities. This group of dedicated women and men take that mission statement seriously.

All volunteers, they operate the gift shop and the information desk as you enter the hospital. The information desk is the first impression a hospital patron receives. The volunteers offer accurate friendly information to those entering the hospital.

The Gift Shop provides a valuable service not only to patients, and visitors but also to employees. It is well stocked with gifts of all kinds.

In addition Service League volunteers make follow-up patient phone calls after discharge, make deliveries to patients and assist with errand in other parts of the hospital. The group is always willing to hale with hospital-related events such as “scrub” sales, bake sales, flu shot clinics, health fairs, open houses and blood drives.

Even more importantly, with funds raised through the Gift Shop and other events, the Service League purchases much need equipment for the hospital which enables Mee Memorial to provide even better care for the people of South Monterey County.
