About Karla
Dr. Comes to us from Sutter Tracy Community Hospital, Tracy, CA where she was an OBGYN Physician. Prior to her time there she participated in lecture conferences of tropical medicine and infectious diseases traveling to multiple hospitals and clinics to collaborate with medical house-staff during hospital rounds, via the VIC-Dominican Republic Exchange and Global Medicine Elective. She was an Immigrant Refugee Health Service Learning Program Scholar, providing patient-centered care for Burmese and Arabic immigrant and refugee populations, and participated in the Medicina Fellows Program, though the Hispanic Center of Excellence, working on health disparities in under-served populations and cultural, social and economic barriers obstructing Latino health. She was also an Urban Health Program Tutor for underserved minority students and taught Japanese through an Exchange Teaching Program (JET), in Fukushima, Japan.
