About Derrick
Dr. Barnes is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Most recently he held the position of Vice Chief of Staff and Co Chair of the Medical Executive Committee and Medical Staff and Ob/Gyn Medical Director/Department Chief at Sutter Lakeside Hospital in Lakeport, CA prior to launching his career as a Diplomat Physician and Locum Tenens physician providing inpatient management and evaluation of obstetrics and gynecology patients, as well as supporting community physicians with inpatient management, surgery, and triage in obstetrics at multiple hospital sites in Monterey, Santa Maria and San Francisco, CA.
Educational Background
Dr. Barnes received his Medical Degree at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and his undergraduate degree in Biology from Brown University. He completed his Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Obstetrics and Gynecology where he was also Chief Resident and the journal club organizer.
