Skilled Nursing

Mee Memorial Healthcare System is a 73 bed, not-for-profit community hospital and has served south Monterey County for more than 50 years.

Mee Memorial Healthcare System’s Skilled Nursing Facility is a 48 bed facility with a 5 Star rating from Medicare that provides the highest level of medical, nursing and rehabilitative care. Each resident’s unique needs are met by a staff of highly skilled professionals who provide compassionate patient-centered care with excellent staffing ratios.

Our purpose is to meet the health care needs of our residents in a safe and secure environment while encouraging our residents to feel a part of our community. We work with all hospitals and referring agencies to review and accept patients to our unit as we are able to meet their needs. The SNF Unit has spacious rooms with bathrooms, showers and special equipment for safety of patients including mechanical lifts. The Skilled Nursing Facility provides rehabilitation services and other specialized services; as well as, long-term care to residents who do not need acute care/skilled services and cannot be cared for at home. The diverse services include an active rehabilitation program with designated beds for those needing services such as for joint replacement or stroke. Patients on the SNF Unit are able to have the same therapists available. The ultimate goal is to return residents to their home or other appropriate living arrangement. The therapy program is ordered by his/her physician and progress is monitored weekly by the interdisciplinary team. Once the appropriate goals have been met then the discharge plan is implemented with applicable follow-up services for the patient and their family. After discharge the patient can attend outpatient therapy and continue to be followed by the same therapy team for continuity of care.

We have many daily activities, including trips outside the facility and various programs. Our activities Coordinators provide a great activities program for patients/residents of all different levels of function and needs while encouraging all to participate. You may see us on a stroll around town, visiting Senior Citizens Day during fair time, participating in flower arrangement or listening and playing music. Holidays are always a special time for our residents with decorations and activities. We also encourage family involvement in the care of our residents. As a nursing facility, are very proud to have created a place to come and be comfortable.
