Speech Therapy
Speech therapists, which are described more accurately as “speech-language pathologists” (SLPs), are medical professionals who work with a wide variety of patients of all ages. They help treat many different types of problems related to language, speech, and also swallowing disorders. Primarily, SLPs diagnose and treat patients with a vast array of articulation issues, voice quality abnormalities, and language disorders. The goal for each patient SLPs treat is to facilitate cognitive and behavioral growth needed to achieve clear, well-understood speech.
